First chick of the year, fresh out of the egg.

I wasn't going to hatch this early, but there's a chick shortage around here so I decided to do an early batch of mixed eggs intended for sale.

3 of the girls are already spoken for.
 
14 babies in the brooder.

The dominant white baby is, obviously, the half-California White but there was another of her eggs in there and I have no idea which chick it is.

The Splashes (at least I *think* they're splashes), are pure Australorp and the others could be several kinds of mix.

I didn't see any foot feathers, so probably no half-cochins.
