I was out watching my girls out in the yard taking some pictures and thought I would share some. i have standard cochins, brahmas, Speckled Sussex as well as 2 Silkies.

The dogs are Lady (English Setter) and Snoopy(Beagle/Basset Mix).In the bottom picture is Herbie, my Cairn Terrier.

Aw - so cute! Your flock is beautiful.
See this, all you folks who don't trust dogs? All three of these dogs have breeding for birding and hunting, and they are obviously calm and well-behaved around the birds. Not all dogs want to kill chickens, and they can indeed be taught not to!

I like the look the chicken is giving the dog. "Yeah, that's right. Just keep walking, buster!"

The only thing that Lady wants is to hunt mice in the coop. Even if the Girls are in the coop and run she just cares about finding the mice. They sort of have a deal, Lady kills the mice and the Girls get a treat.
