So I had my regular upside down finch feeders and my regular small bird feeder. This weekend I bought a hummingbird feeder which has only had two hits (from what I saw). I still wanted more birds...... Sooooooo
I took two shephards hooks that would not hold any of my other feeders and set them about four feet apart, then I took a garden stake and set it across it like a perch. My daughter has some of these bowls from walmart (2 pk for $1.00 by nuby) I drilled holes in the bottom and zipped tied them to the stake. Filled one with thistle and regular bird food and the other with part of a left over banana from Sophie's breakfast. Now they are everywhere....lol. Best of all Sophie helped me set it up and feed the birds... You know cause you need to start them young....lol.
Now I have two mystery birds a crow and a cardinal.
UPDATE: So here are some pictures
This is the front view of my house.
This is a close up of my new contraption
This is my little helper Sophie, she is hard worker...lol.
This I think is chickadee or something, I'm still trying to figure it out
Here are some birds hanging out on my new contraption
Here is a finch. I usally have about 10 or 12 hanging around.
Here's mommy's little helper all tuckered out after helping to feed the birds. I paid her in chocolate milk she is the best help I could ever have.
