    Hi guy's,
I'm new to these forum thingies, but need advise please. My goose is sitting quite nicely on her eggs now, tucked away in a nice little garden shed with plenty of straw, but my problem is, My Gander, Romeo, has to be locked in the same shed. This being due to a recent fox attack which claimed the life of my other goose. she has been nesting for about 2 weeks now and it is getting increasingly hard to get Romeo into the shed! Seriously.. Laps around the back yard are getting ridiculous!!!..but that's not my worry, I don't know if it is safe to lock him in there if I'm lucky enough to have gosling's hatch!.. do the get aggressive towards their young if locked in together overnight??? I don't have anywhere else to lock him in and leaving him out is out of the question, he's become my little buddy!! any advice?

[IMG] In my experience ganders have always been at least as protective if not more protective of the goslings than the geese have been.

Very true Papa geese are great and will defend those goslings with his life. Don't worry a bit about leaving him in with her and the babies. Although you'll have to watch him around you and family they are very protective.

Sorry you lost your goose. Your going to have to really protect them all once the goslings hatch. That fox will be back.
