They are climbing the junk in their pen. This morning I drug a couple fiberglass shower walls in the pen. they make a nice up side down V shape for them to get out of the weather under. first thing they did was climb up and roost on them. I laughed but maybe they need a better roost system? I have a bunch of trees I cut down that aren't even good fire wood so I think I will tow a couple in with my quad. maybe they will like sitting up off the ground better that way?

Funny my geese don't do much perching even though they do have logs around.

My American's like to get to the highest place they can... top of a log, tallest "hill" in the yard, etc. I see them standing on anything that will make them taller. I have to laugh because they're not terribly graceful - LOL!

I have to agree about the lack of grace. they slip and fall but keep going. I had to remove these after i took the picture. I found where a couple of them were tearing chunks out of the fiberglass. they ripped a 2" whole in the one not pictured. I am working on a "play set" for them now
