Well, DH and I built a ladder-style roost for the girls (who haven't been roosting much at all) to see if they liked that there would be higher options, etc. Well, for a few days they'd get up on it and hop down during the day, but all still sleep in a pile on the floor. Tonight I went out just about dusk to take a peek and 5 of them were on it, all snuggled! Of course, when I got the camera, 3 hopped down after seeing me- but I got a pic of the two that were too comfy to be bothered. [IMG] I'm such a proud mama!

Here we could never let the chickens roost outside, no matter how bad they want to in this miserable heat. They'd be chicken dinners for someone. [IMG]
