From left to right: Becky, Baby, Lady Grey and Venti. They are growing fast! Their roost is a curtain rod covered in masking tape for grip. It started on the floor & last weekend I moved it up. Just a couple of nights ago did I see all of them on it.
We've gotten some spring snow which has delayed finishing the coop. I've given myself a deadline of April 21.

Oh this makes me so sad! My son was happy to hear we might have a boy and then got very upset when I said we couldn't keep him.
I'm sorry:hugs

A lot of places you can't have roosters, it is sad. It's better that you know now so you can make plans/try to re-home him if possible.
Posting on FB, craigslist and here on BYC may be good options for you.

Thank you. So, our ordinance currently allows roosters although that may be changing But I've had chickens before on acreage and I couldn't imagine having a rooster in close urban proximity. Plus, our poor three remaining girls wouldn't be very happy after some time.
