I have 12 Jersey Giant pullets that are almost 22 weeks old. Two of them laid their first eggs today! One egg was already in the nest box and my other girl laid her egg while I was in the coop. I am so excited! We ate them for breakfast. The yolks were Orange! Absolutely beautiful. And what a difference in taste! Can't wait for more!
Mine are starting to pick up speed now too with the increasing daylight, soon I will be overrun with eggs again.
Congratulations! I have a pullet that is "practicing" in the nests, but so far, nothing. I'm hoping my older hens kick back in soon! I'm tired of buying eggs!
