My great grandma is 98 and always tells me about her mother having chickens and how she wasn't allowed to pet them. I surprised her the other day with my precious blind Dominique hen "Roast Beef" who loves to be held. They were instantly best friends! Her cat Ginny didn't even acknowledge Beefy in the slightest! It was a great experience for everyone involved. Roast Beef may be the perfect therapy chicken!
Roast beef? Love it! You made me laugh my first laugh of the day. Thank You. Neat idea for your grandma.
That is a very inspiring story and pictures! Your great grandma looks very peaceful and content holding Roast Beef. My mom is 92 and still doing well. She was a farm girl so I take her out to my place frequently where she feeds and holds my chickens and hand feeds the geese, turkeys, and pigs. Takes her back in time and makes her happy. Animals are such good therapy. Thanks for posting!
