My Hen is Crowing...

    In the Chicken Run
    Now most will probably say, "whelp looks like its not a hen." But she lays eggs... and is an obvious cochin bantam hen. Any ideas how she crowed? I watched her do it...

    You will, on occasion, get a hen that does crow. Not a common thing for sure, but it does happen. Get a video of her doing the act and share it with us.

    Hi there Elky

    I have a couple of crowing hens [no roosters here]. They do not do it all the time but yep, they will occasionally crow.

    One is a Pekin [bantam Cochin] and the matriarch of the flock and the other is a bantam Langshan who is 2IC.

    I have a very dominant black Australorp gal that crows like a roo! She will jump onto a flower pot or lawn chair and let it rip! Hilarious! She didn't begin this until she was four years old. -scared me to death the first time I heard her [​IMG]
