My hen is pecking herself so much she is bleeding???

I am not sure the breed because everyone has told me different, but she is 8 wks old, and she is pecking herself so much she is bleeding on her back right side by her tail feathers. is this okay? do i need to get her medication or something? please help!!! thank you so much!!!

Are you positive she is doing this to herself and it isn't a result of your other birds plucking her? How many birds do you have? How much space? What are you feeding them?

i watched her digging back there. i didn't see any of the others plucking her. i have 5, with plenty of space in the coop and run. could this be a result of roosters being with them? i just finished there first bag of chick starter food.

Buy Blue KOTE from a farm supply store. Separate her because the other ones will eat her alive.

Once the chicks see blood they will pick at it. As someone else mentioned it needs to be separated or they will pick it until it dies.
