My hen has most of her back feathers missing due to overly excited roosters, and now she is sunburned...
Is there something I can put on her to help the redness?
Is there something I can put on her to keep her from getting sunburned? Would sunscreen work on chickens?

Don't know about sunscreen, but I got aprons for my hens who were losing their feathers. There is someone on this forum who makes them. They are $5 per apron... Sounds crazy, but they do work.

Let me look for her name and email and I'll post it.

Thank you....I would of never thought of that...I will see what I can conjur up....I am pretty handy with sewing...
Thanks again...Ceila totally appreciates it....and the black girl too....

And best to keep her (or them) separated for a bit till she heals.....
Is it sunburn from the area having no feather protection or is it chapped from ambitious roos? (Maybe both!) The treatment would be different. If there's any broken skin a little neosporin would help healing.
