My hens are not laying many eggs??

I have 10 Road Island Reds, just last week they were laying about 6 eggs a day. That has now dropped to 1 egg today? They are a little over a year old. We live in Texas so it is hot, can the weather effect them laying eggs? I give then purina layena pellets, in the afternoon I give them ostyer shell, and some chicken scratch (it has corn and birdseed looking stuff in it) We do give them some bread and veggies/fruit but not every day. We are new to raising chickens, but I think they should give us more eggs than even 6.

As I understand it, when it gets really hot, the egg production slacks off. Did it get hotter?

It has been rainy and muggy till today and it started getting hotter, but not too hot....yet
