My hens killed a baby opossum!

    I was checking the coop in the morning to see if it had leaked after some rain, and there he was, about an 8" long opossum, pecked to death, with blood everywhere, about an inch thick, and no face left. He must have thought he found the gravy train with the eggs, but little did he know that my girls are guard hens [​IMG]

    I'm glad they got him before he grew up and ate them!

    Wow. Your hens are vicious (and awesome)! What breed are they?

    Oh man, glad it didn't hurt anyone, but as a wildlife rescuer, I cringe. I have lots of possums here, and it is HARD to keep them out! I finally poured concrete curbs at the old place, haven't done it here yet! Your hens are SUPER DUPER GALS!!! [​IMG]

    Oh wow that is great they got him..that is good to know they will defend themselves and there eggs..those eggs are for you not him..I have electric fence around my whole coop and pen ecept tomorrow it is going to get stronger..more voltage..
