My Hens that hatched in March just layed for the first time today??

I was shocked to find 2 eggs this morning!!!! I got 4 baby chicks in March which did not lay this fall...Today, December 20th, I heard loud noise went to the coop and found the eggs!!!!Really???? The only thing I did different was add a red heat lamp a week ago? Can someone shed some light on this for us? Merry Christmas to me!!!!

Shed some light? you ask? Pun intended.

The heat lamp provided extra light as well. Quite likely the extra light gave them to "go ahead and lay" signal.

I guess so!!! I just can't even begin to tell you how thrilled I am!!! We have waited 8 Long months!!! They belonged to the Wyandottes!!!
