My mare stepped on one of my chickens - not her fault it was standing right underneath her!! I have bathed and bandaged it and today took the dressing off to let the air at it but kept her inside my tack room. Her foot is swollen underneath although the injury seems to be healing on the top. She is inside tonight too. She seems able to put a little weight on it. Should I just wait and see or should I be doing anything else?

You should see if she will let you ice it, just like if you were to be stepped on by a horse. I would actually try a cold washcloth (maybe soaked in ice water) instead of ice because you don't want to injure her little foot.
I would try this- Wrap her foot in a cold washcloth for 10-15 minutes every couple of hours. See how it does after a day or two.

Thanks - I will try that, she is outside as I write and trying a little weight on it. It is not as swollen or warm as yesterday so I hope she continues to improve!! Poor thing!!
