I just set 30 eggs at 8:15 a.m. today. I have a feeling the next 21 days are going to be L O N G!
Stay on BYC reading and posting and the time will fly by! Good luck on your hatch!
Good Luck and you are right the anxiety can get to you. Then the addiction takes over. LOL
OK - the anxiety is going to KILL ME!! So far, I have had 2 major power outages, 4 high temp spikes due to very quick changes in weather (severe weather moving in and out quickly, hence power outages and temp spikes), and the PO playing soccer with my box of BBS orp eggs from MissPrissy. I candled today (1 day early) and I know for sure that I have 12 eggs out of 30 that are growing! I could see the little embryos swimming around!! I know there is veining in several others, so I'm not giving up, but I'm 99% sure that one is not growing at all. I'm not going to get rid of any of them until at least day 14. I'm hoping when I candle again they're will be more.
The first 18 days aren't so bad; it's the last 3 that will kill you!!!
I agree!!! I'm on day 20! I've never done this before and since I took the eggs out of the turner Sunday - time is CRAWLING!!!!
It's driving me insane!
I recandled last night with DH's help, and I have a total of 23 viable eggs, 4 still in question, and 3 that did not do anything. So, out of 30, I know I have 23 babies right now, and a possible 4 more. Even if I only have 23 for my first hatch, not too bad!!! I'm so excited!!
We candled again last night (day 13) since we won't have time tonight, and I have 26 out of 30 babies! 8 of those are MissPrissy's eggs! We're due to start hatching on the 20th. I can't believe it's almost here!
I didn't get a chance to update yesterday, but yesterday was day 18. I took them out of the turner, increased the humidity to between 60-65%, and now I wait! They should be hatching some time this weekend! We'll see how many of the 26 remaining eggs hatch! Come on babies!!!!
