My layin feed says 20% protien

I've fed 18 and 22 percent to my flock, can tell no difference as far as egg laying, but the 22 percent seems to help with feather growth and keeps the feathers shiny.

If there was a way to feed something to chickens and get them to lay more than they would otherwise, industry would have invented it by now. The fact no miracle feed of this type is out there probably means that you can't influence egg number by protein content.

I agree. I've fed mine 20% ever since they started to lay, about a year now. They are healthy and happy. I have a friend and she is a veternarian. She told me they were in excellent health. Most days each lay an egg. Some days some will take the day off.
