my little coop renovation

All I wanted was to redo my coop roof since it was leaky.
so my wonderful other half took to it a couple weekends ago and I got what I wanted. It is more of a little cottage style now and I just love it.

Best of all, the wood was reused from the old garden and I only bought a quart of paint. The strawberries have arrived and have started growing on top and will eventually fill in the entire roof. I'm gonna plant alittle more flowers and then it will be perfect.

How do you grow strawberries on top?
The tray looks to be only 3" deep.
