My little Leghorn consistently lays X-Large eggs but this one holds her record!

    This was the biggest egg I've ever had from my flighty little Leghorn! So far, it's the only gigantic egg she's left me. It weighed out at a whopping 3.8oz! Her next three eggs were much smaller but after that, she was back to her normal X-large. I never did crack it to see if it was a double-yoke but candling indicated it was a single. It was a good "show and tell" item.
    The picture of egg carton contain all x-large eggs. The third picture is a comparison of what her egg looked like the day before she laid the giant.

    Wow. That's 107 grams. I got a 92 and a 96 gram egg on successive days from a White Minorca/Black Penedesenca cross.
    In hindsight, I can't believe I sold that bird.
