My MIA hen just turned up....broody

So I guess my real question is can a hen continuously be broody? Last season, my polish hatched a clutch and stopped laying for the winter. Not unheard of apparently. Well, we had some real bad storms and my hen disappeared the day before. I’d kind of given up hope that she’d come back (she’d gotten into a habit of not being seen for a day or so). Insert four days later, my mom finds her sitting in the middle of a brush pile. Our thoughts are she’s hurt and when I reach in there I get the broody growl. Is it possible that her broody hormones stuck around through the off season and kicked back in once it warmed up?

Yup. Broody hens do what they do, when the mood strikes them. The hard part is having them survive out there!
