They just took her back. Radical mastectomy (double), followed by some reconstruction work. She'll be in the OR for around 6 hours, so I'll be sitting in this lovely waiting room with my laptop. One of our ministers was here before they took her to the OR, and prayed with us, and Mom feels very positive, very much at peace, and ready to get this all over with and on to begin chemotherapy. There is about a 20% chance that the cancer will be present in her lymphatic system, which we'll know at some point during the course of the surgery. Obviously, we're praying for that not to be the case. I appreciate all of your prayers and positive thoughts this morning. On a lighter note, my mom on Versed makes me grateful that she's never been a drinker.
