The rooster is mean only to me, I feed them! Dang.
The turkey is so gentle, just wonderful.
I used to have a rooster that was just the opposite. He was a gorgeous Golden Polish rooster named Ivan. Polish are not usually aggressive chickens, but Ivan became the meanest rooster that I ever had, attacking anyone and anything that came into his pen, except me. For some reason, he never attacked me. I had raised Ivan from a chick, but sadly, I had to cull him from the flock as I couldn't risk him seriously injuring someone (putting an eye out, etc.) and I couldn't breed that kind of aggression into my flock. Good luck with your rooster.
I don't plan on breeding Toby, if I get chicks it's cause they hid an egg . But he and the puppy play on occasion till he doesn't any more. Daisy thinks he is another puppy, go figure.
I would be too sad if I had to get rid of Toby, he protects his girls inc the turkey with a vengeance.
