My new babies! I had been debating for a while now, and I finally couldn't handle it when I found these posted for sale on craigslist...and discovered it was the Anconas from AuroraSprings! Thank You Thank You!

Yes, that's an automatic cat waterer - I set it down for them when I couldn't for the life of me find the usual chick waterer. Obviously they think it's grand.

Thanks all for the comments! I haven't had ducks since middle school, so I am very excited! I bought a full 12-roll of paper towels for them today in the thought that I shall keep up with messiness that way....we'll see! For now, they are just TOOO adorable! I already have my husband threatening to post videos of my impression of how they drink! :)

Can ducklings drink from chick waterers?

They have successfully been drinking in a chick waterer (after many hours of figuring out where I put the blasted thing!). I have a larger automatic cat/dog waterer in there, too - it was what I had on hand while I hunted down the chick waterer (they love playing in that one). I will probably put in a larger bowl eventually, that is easy to clean out.

I dare say the chick waterer is of limited use - only when they're still pretty small. They will need deeper water as they get a bit larger.
