my new baby hen

    hello guys, im from australia, melbourne,
    today, i bought a baby hen from my pet store, right now i keep it in a box with hay, 2 bowls for water and food and a lamp over the top, it keeps chirping and trying to jump out of the box... any ideas/caring/ suggestions i need to do ? thanks really appreciate it

    it wants a buddie, its best to get chickens in twos or threes, thats why it chirps alot

    1: nobowls of water!!! It could drown!
    2: get it a stuffed animal and mirror
    3: lid the box:
    4: make sure she is not too hto
    5:hold her.. cuddle her
    6: Then let her be, she is just stressed
    &: depending on age, give it some yogurt [​IMG]

    I agree maybe she needs a friend or lots of company if you want to raise her alone. I would recommend a shallow dish filled with pebbles and a chick feeder (alternatively you can get a plastic container with a lid like those you get from chinese takeaway stores and cut out a circular hole in the middle and place some food in . Less spillage and less money as well [​IMG] ).
    What breed is she?

    i dont have a small mirror and dont have any small toys... but the bowl is not big, it doesn't seem to drink..? ( only got it an hour ago)...

    edited to add: If she was sharing a cage with other chicks at the petstore, go back and get one or two of them.
