The chicks were fast outgrowing the brooder and we were planning on having another batch of chicks soon so hubby designed a brooder and it is finally finished. This is a fantastic brooder with 2 rooms and lots of space.

    We used:
    2-sheets of 4X8 1/4" plywood
    9-2X4X8
1/2 roll of 1/4 gauge welded wire
    4- 1X4X8
    2-latch/hinge sets
    16-corner braces
    2- 2X2 squares of ply
    2 roller tracts

Total cost was around $100.00. It took a total of probably 6 hours to complete.

Forgive my goofy husband. I'm a lucky girl........

I am happy with it and so are my chicks. I can close off the one area if wanted or leave it open.
