My new chicken pen

I'm new to this, but this is the new home for my 6 chickens. The pen measures about 12'x30'. I would like to let them roam the yard on occasion, but must fence in my garden first. Any input, questions, comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks from Long Island, NY!

I see a beginning of a chicken village!

I would/ or rather will have a village soon enough! The only problem is the coop I bought online(kit) said 6-10 chickens, but it seems very small. I would probably have to get another coop and expand the run for my village. Looks like I have new project for next spring! The chicks are set for now and I must turn my attention to my garden for May. Thank you.
