Hi all!
I have been absent a long while, just living life with my flock and cattle. Unfortunately, a coyote (or two) took my entire flock on May 16th. I did have about 4 dozen uncleaned, unrefrigerated fertile eggs, though, so a friend incubated them for me and they hatched yesterday!
I have 18 chicks home now plus one little guy that needed assistance and may not make it (he/she is drying in the incubator still at my friend's house).
My rooster was a Black Australorp, and the hens were three Easter Eggers (I have three hatched EE chicks, but don't know which ones), four Black Sex Links and three Red Star Sex Links. I can't wait to find out what the chicks end up feathering out like, but here they are today (anyone want to hazard a guess?):
