My cochin Kurta hatched out 6 eggs which are mille fleur and blue-laced d'uccles on Feb 14:love. She then adopted 3 more hatched out by my Polish crested, who decided the best thing to brood was something that didn't move and tried to peck them into stillness (crazy broody has reinforced the stereotype about her breed!)

This is Kurta's first brood. She's 5 months old. She's been wonderful wit her 9 chicks so far!

My seven-year-old (avatar pic) got this pic with her camera.

Does anyone know, how do you submit a pic to try to make it the photo of the week?

Do the mods just choose one?

I think this would be a nice one [IMG]

    They are adorable!
And she will probably hang on to them FOREVER.
My cochin broody tries to shove 4 month old LF chicks under her butt.
With D'Ucles I bet she would be brooding them until they were laying themselves!

[IMG] My silkies will do the same thing, even when the chicks are way too old to be "sat" on, my hens still try and cover them with their wings. It is so cute, I love hens and their chicks...

My first-grader takes way better "action"shots than me. It's her pic.

My two older broody cochins have their remaining daughter cochins (one each) snuggling behind them in their nest boxes each night to sleep. They young'uns are 6 mo old [IMG]

    I'll submit the pic, thanks!
