I am just so excited. I purchased this girl yesterday. The lady said she was about 8-9 months old. She actually wasn't for sale, but I couldn't leave without her. She's so calm and laid back. I'm kind of surprised she has not started laying yet, but hopefully she will soon. Just wanted to share.

Thank you both! I am just so excited with her. My other hen is a hatchery special, aka mutt, so I am very happy to have something of quality now. She's just so sweet and pretty. I cant wait to start handling her more.

Your other girl reminds me of a hatchery wheaten maran.

The other hen is a cross between a Rhode Island Red and a Domonique.

I don't thinks so. The black from the Dominique would be dominate and she would be almost all black or barred if the Dom was the Daddy

Well, if that is the case, I have no idea then. The hatchery (Bob's Biddies in Ray City, GA) told me that it was called a Dena's Special which is a cross between a Domonique and RIR. It doesnt matter to me.

I DO know that my new girl is pretty awesome though! LOL
