My new peacock 🦚

[Blue Hills Peafowl]

I just got this guy on Saturday. Was told it is a male 4-5 months old India Blue peacock. I posted some pictures to a group and some people said it was a hen. Now I'm wondering but either way would be happy for a hen too. What do you think?

Someone on FB when she was asking for a good name. I think you guys need to look at this hen a little closer.

I know, and that is ok but let me point out a few reasons why I say hen. First, have you seen a green neck on a cock other than a high % Spaulding? The wide barring is growing out and leaving plain sections as seen on the lower wings. The barring is also singular on each feather and also, notice the scallops on the lower neck/breast.

Liz is burning up Peafowl Breeders and Fanciers There must be almost 100 responses and they are almost equal on male/female.

We had a peacock visit us, he moved from the neighbors to our yard, scared our poor chickens, but we were able to catch him and rehomed him to one of our friends.
He was very likely an Indian blue pied.
