[IMG] seemed to be born fine, until about 1/2 hour later. Now there's blood coming out the "bottom" somewhere. Belly was big and round. Seems like a lot of blood for such a little body. Is there anything I can or should do?

It sounds like maybe the umbilical cord was ripped or something. There should be a little wound about a half inch up the belly from the vent. That's probably where she's bleeding from. I would wrap her in a warm wet paper towel (around the umbilical area) and put her under a light or back in the 'bator. And make sure she drinks some water.

I have had this happen before. I put a dab of flour on it to stop the bleeding.
Hope the little guy makes it

You've given me hope :) Hard as it is I'm trying not to open the incubator lid. [IMG] LOVE the flour tip. I'd been considering my hubby's styptic pencil.

Little lakenvelder is doing great. The bleeding had stopped when I got back from a meeting--didn't have to intervene with the flour. I made sure it got a drink of water and it isfine. It's big roly poly belly did deflate quite a bit.[IMG]
