This is my little Betty. She has confused many a people. I have been told she is a dun duckwing and a black-breasted-red. This my Boy, Jack. I've been told he is A 'Khaki' idk what that is and many kinds of duckwing. If you guys could help me I would be really gratefull.
hi there tean chick how are your eggs doing ?? the first is a silver duck wing or a gold the hens will have the same color (and not a phinx phnx will have blue legs not shure on the second hard to tell from that pic but it looks like a brown red or brassy back the thrid (my fav) looks like a faun duck wing verry nice nice looking birds you have hope you get some more to add to them how did your nest boxs go ??
Your first hen is a Silver Duckwing Your second hen is a Black Breasted Red (B.B. Red) Your rooster looks to be a Fawn Silver Duckwing Just a heads up, It is Golden Duckwing not just Gold Duckwing. Chris
Guess I forgot the 'en' on gold Why does the second hen have a lot of black in her hackles? Can BB reds have that?
# 2 is not BBR it is brown red will post a pic of a bbr for comparason and lets not nitpic on spelling and a silver duck wing you will notes that the BBR has a gold neck and a samon colored breast will the brown red has a dark neck and red chest tean you should have some of my silvers in your bator
Quote:She is not a Brown Red. Note a Brown Red hen is Black body with Gold in the neck. The OP's hen is a badly marked BB Red or could even be a cross of verities. (If so I would say she was a BB Red/Brassy Back cross. lets not nitpic on spelling I'm not nitpicking on spelling. There is a difference Genetically between Gold and Golden Chris

Also, GoldEN is having both gold and silver alleles - The males will be silvery in the hackle/saddle, and gold and red in the shoulder. Straight GOLD duckwings are solid red and black. Gold Duckwing females are reddish, brown, and black. There are no GoldEN duckwing females though, as it is genetically impossible.
Hen #1 is a duckwing, however,it is really difficult to tell the difference unless you you have them both.My Goldens are a lot darker and darker in the breast than my Silver Duckwings. She looks more like my Goldens. They BOTH have the lighter hackles, whereas BB's have a golden hackle coloring amd Brown Reds are completely dark with just the hackles LACED in coppery color possibly extending into the breast but not desired.Hen # 2 is a brassyback hen or a Quail hen. Her color is much like my quails with the exception of the light in the shafting, which puts her along the lines of a brassy. She is not Brown Red nor BB red following the previous stated on the two.. The rooster is a Fawn Silver Duckwing. Here's a BB Red: Brassy hen: Brown red: Quail: Fawn Silver Duckwing:
