Mine hasn't crowed yet, but he does chatter a lot. And I noticed the female tryine to evade him yesterday, so I'm thinking he's starting to feel frisky [IMG] Hurry up and grow, inside babies, I need more girls! [IMG] Might just stick them with the jumbos for now, there are more girls to share. [IMG]

Quote:I love that sound, ours started a while back and egg production is picking up every day. We pickled a small batch the other day and we are thinking it's getting about time to hatch some out. Just wish the weather would decide what it wants to do, 30's yesterday, 40's today 70's by the weekend. [IMG]

Ours live outside on the side of the brooder barn. It won't be long to set some eggs.

I love that sound. Totally different from painted button quail. The sound of our's crowing carries further than the sound of the roosters.

Does it sound like a cat being stepped on? Because our male does that all the time and scares the poo out of me! [IMG]

Yep my coturnix quails are starting to crow a little, just to know that spring is only 2 1/2 weeks away. I love the crow sound they make it feels like life in the woods.[IMG]
