My Pekin Babies - Comments re: Colour and Sex would be appreciated!

But I have to say this cutie looks very 'sebrighty'

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I'm fast beginning to concur with you all that the black chicks may well be from the sebright hens. Observing them with the other chicks, they are by far the most inquisitive and seem to have twice the energy for zooming around (which is very sebrighty behaviour). I'm planning to take updated pictures at 2 weeks of age and will of course share here for comparisons.

Here are my two sebright hens. These two are little troublemakers of the first degree but very much loved pets. In this picture they had "snuck" inside and made themselves at home on the couch blanket for a nap!!!

Hello Everyone!

I have a flock of pekin (assorted colours) and sebright (1 silver and 1 Citrone) hens, with a silver partridge pekin rooster, and have recently allowed some broody hens to hatch clutches of eggs. I'm still getting my head around the finer points of the colours and patterns so would greatly appreciate any help with determining what these babies might be.. and identifying if "any" of these might possibly have a sebright mother. I've included pictures of the flock too for assistance.

Hi Everyone!
Here are the updated pictures of my baby flock - now a day or so short of 3 weeks old. I'm now certain the little black one (Baby 1) has a sebright mother based on the comb, the leg colour and I think the tail looks very "henny" like. I'd appreciate hearing all your thoughts and comments on what colours you think these babies are - in particular the black one - baby number one.

Beautiful! I wpuld consider your Sebright mix to be a 'mossy' silver pencil. He looks like a cockerel... I am unsure though. #3 is definitely a silver pencil. Stunning. You should be able to sex that one soon according to color. Looks like a pullet so far. The others I am unsure of. :)

LilJoe - Hello Again. Do you have much knowledge of what the different chick down colours and patterns mean or is it just a bit too complex to say for sure? For example, I had some chicks that had very pale down (less than yellow but not white) with just smudges of black on them (and some with black dots on head) and then some who had various shades of fawny down with the chipmonk stripe. I have 3 newer babies just hatched that have the chipmonk pattern who are very chocolaty brown.

It's to hard to tell right now. I would think silver pencil or partridge, but I don't know for sure. -on the chipmunks
