my Pheasant hatched today

    Out of 15 eggs one little guy made it.

    4 didnt develop all of the way and the rest were not fertilized.

    If you dont remember, I found this nest while looking for my Guinea nests. My guineas had layed a few eggs along with the pheasant eggs. I had no way of knowing how old they were and a few nights it dipped below freezing. It is really anyone's guess why the rest didnt make it.

    This chick is so little but is making lots of noise. I have never seen one so small.

    The little one is hanging in there. I was afraid he was too small to make it.

    His/Her name is "Trooper"

    I plan on moving him to the brooder tonight, will post a pic then.
