my RIR chicks are piping day 19 can they hatch today the temp is 102 hum 69 to 70
go chickies go chickies
Yes they could, but mostly they take about 24 hours from pip to hatch. They pip to make an air hole so they can begin breathing, then they take the next day to switch over from using the egg membrane to respire to fully breathing.
Sounds like your temps were a bit high for the hatch which put them a bit ahead of schedule. Is this a still air or forced air?
I would have to agree 102 is a bit high. But they should hatch just fine. Now would be the time to start reading a book or something to get u away from the bator.
I am on day 19, with my other hatch they started pipping on day 21, the wait is the hardest part. I thought about raising my temps and humidity for a early hatch with this clutch but missprissy wouldn't let me. I am sitting on my hands and keeping me self beeezzy to keep from getting involved with the great and unpowerful mother nature
