I have six month old rooster named twinkle. I just discovered he is part silver ameraucana and part black frizzle Cochin bantam (though he is not a frizzle). He has never attempted or even seemed interested in crowing. But this morning when I went outside and heard the deepest and loudest crow I've ever heard from any rooster, surprising since he is half bantam. It was so loud it scared the hens under the bushes. He did it many more times at around 8:00am but hasn't done it since. I've never heard him try to crow though I'm outside nearly all the time. I just wanted to say this, it was hard to hold in.[IMG]

My roosters first crows always sound like someone is strangling them. And they're usually so proud when they figure the whole crowing business out that they do it all day everyday [IMG]
