My roosters eye is swollen and his beak is full of mucus

It sounds possibly like he has a respiratory disease and sinus infection. Do you see any bubbles or foam in the eye? Open it by applying a warm wet compress or applying water to his eyelid. It should soften the crust so that you can open it. Are you in the US? You can flush his eye with saline or eye wash, and apply a dab of plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment twice daily. Antibiotic eye drops would also be good. Tylosin, oxytetracycline, enrofloxacin, and Denagard (tiamulin) are common antibiotics that can be given to treat mycoplasma (MG) respiratory disease.

We’re in the Uk and we’ve used some saline he’s just sat doing nothing but no bubbles or foam

after looking at knowing from memory about chicken illnesses excess mucus is a sign of fighting off infection or a virus, but a swollen eye is something i have never heard of, it could be inflammed to also help fight something off

also please check if his poop is normal, if there are worms that will indicate he has worms and maybe some other illness
