I have 3 Silkie/Easter Egger mixes. They show no interest in any perches I provide. They like to rest on the ground under their Eglu cube up, laying down close to each other. There is a perch bar under there they don’t use. In the actual Eglu cube it has the slatted platform which is fine with them. I’ve read that not roosting can cause problems in chickens but then I thought maybe this is just typical behavior for this breed. Comments appreciated. Thanks!

I had 2 silkies (the white ladies in my avatar, R. I. P. Lavern & Shirley). Lavern never roosted, she would bed down in a corner every night. Shirley sometimes roosted, but would usually sleep beside her sister. I tried making them a low roost, but they never used it. I ended up putting a box in the corner, on it's side so that they could walk into it, and they used that most of the time. Once in a while I would see them in the opposite corner, just bedded down in the shavings.
