My Silkie Hen (Chicken) Has Adopted My Ducklings

My Silkie hen is raising a few adopted baby chicks at the moment, so I decided to see whether she would take in my 2 new baby Pekins as well. Sure enough, within 5 minutes it was like she'd hatched them herself.

I'll get more pix tomorrow. She is mothering them with 100% dedication, and both she and the ducklings are clearly besotted with one another. So cute

Here she is at dusk tonight with the two ducklings plus 5 baby chicks all gathered underneath her for the night.

What will you do when she freaks out that the ducklings are swimming in the water? You should video it and post it here for us to watch. I've never seen it, but have read about it.
