    Rhyme intended

Anyhow, it turns out my Silkie chicken that I took a chance hoping would end up a pullet... Did not get the memo.

Today, at 7:20am, I heard my first crow from my Silkie. :(

Long story short, I have two chickens (Cochin hen and now confirmed Silkie roo) and they're not too legal in my city and I live in a well suburban area. Roosters are definitely a no go if chickens aren't allowed. My neighbours definately would not appreciate a loud crow at 5/6am everyday and neither would I.

I feel bad because I definately don't want to separate the two because they grew up with only each other since 1 week old. :(

Does anyone know if a no crow collar, online-bought or self-made going to be enough to silence him or should I get to rehoming them now?

This sucks, I should have gotten a confirmed female chick instead of chancing it at a Silkie. I really threw myself in a pickle here.

Most recent pic of the two:

Haha I just realised my Cochin is shaking her head or somethings so it looks like she doesn't have one! Here's a better picture of her, a bit unrelated but more settling. [IMG]

I also forgot to mention these two are just over a week shy of being 4 months old.

Update: So I ended up trading my Silkie for two small mutt hens. I miss him awfully much, but I'm hoping that the three I have now will get together and I'm sure the woman who I gave him to will treat him right. c:
