I'm glad he's going to survive! I agree, don't handle him too much. I once had my meanest rooster sacrifice himself to a dog that was going after a hen (it wasn't the dog's fault, my stupid hen flew into his lawn). He lived, but had a limp, and actually a much better attitude. I hate it when things like this happen to the sweet ones .

If only someone would invent comfortable armor for chickens to wear - they might survive more attacks. No fair that they are unarmed and everything wants to kill them.
