My Tuck passed this morning

I lost my Australorpe Tuck today. I am not sure what happened to Tuck. I had moved him from his small coop to the big coop, and he just seemed to give up on life. Is it possible that a chicken can get depressed? We tried everything to cheer him up. We even put him back in his old coop. This morning I went to say good morning to everyone, and DH was carrying him out. I am so sad that I lost him.

What a beauty. I'm so sorry for your loss; I lost my SLW Rocky last night. For such small creatures they surely do leave an awfully big hole in our hearts, don't they?

Thank you everyone. Yes they do leave a very big impression on us. Tuck was a very good protector for his girls. I will miss him greatly. I at least have Tuck's son that I hatched out this spring. Hopefully he will be as protective as his father.
