Hello. We have 2 white silkies that are kinda dingy looking. I have used the quick silver type of shampoos and they came pretty clean but still not brite white like how we see them at the shows.Still have a yellow tint to heads/face areas. Any of you have any tricks or tips on how to get the super white silkie?? My kids are going to be showing them the second week of July. Also, if they have some broken foot feathers how do you all deal with those? someone told me to pull them but im worried they wont grow back in time..

We keep the coop/run very clean lots of shavings and try to stay on top of the poo.. is wire bottom cage better for foot feathers?

Thank you for taking time to read this post !!

Are they getting a lot of direct sun? I've heard that some white chickens turn yellowish if they get too much sun.

Just a thought, but are you feeding them corn, or a feed with a high corn content? Corn will yellow white feathers.
