Rosie is actually our first chicken. She walked into our lives in March of this year and now we have added 4 more chooks to the family![IMG]

I hope the link shows the picture [IMG]

Since she adopted us I was hoping someone would be able to help me identify her breed. If I've done my research right she is a Dutch bantam but I'd love the opinion of ore experience chicken folks.

    Thanks!

She looks like a Dutch. Can you get a side shot of just the chicken? That would help.

I agree! She's a beautiful little hen. A great layer too! Rosie generally lays about 5 or more eggs a week. She layed for 8 days straight before it got super hot but most of the time it's 3 days on 1 day off. She could be laying more than I think . . . every day is an egg hunt. She used to use her nesting box but lately she's been hiding under the rosemary bushes, in the mint, under the gardenias . . .

She's tiny! Just a handful. I can carry her around easily in the palm of my hand. I tried to use measuring tape to give her height & length in inches but she was too wiggly LOL![IMG][IMG][IMG]

    I weighed her 1.3 lbs

I also took a pic that will hopefully convey size.

Rosie's egg on the right. On the left is a store bought large egg.
