Hi there! I'm having some trouble determining the breed of one of my birds.
Her name is Kaydee (after the basketball star Kevin Durant, due to her large wingspan!). She's currently a month & a half old. I got her at 2 days old along with her sister (an EE who is much larger than this lass) from a local place that's not quite... reputable. There were no other chicks in the lot that looked anything like her, so my curiosity got the best of me.
Her nature is extremely calm and sturdy. She won't run away when you try to pick her up, and she doesn't screech when you do either. She doesn't peck anyone else and she'll let you pet her and examine her as much as you want without any fight. Originally I thought she was a quail, but as I continued to do further research I began to think that she was a bantam Welsummer. Up until about a fortnight ago I was sure of her breed, but she does not sound like any chicken i've ever raised at all (over a dozen). She makes a sound like a praire dog or ground hog, like a sort of chucking sound. And instead of peeping, she makes a puppy-dog whining sound. Her sound change started very early compared to other birds i've raised.
I'm really at a loss at what sort of bird she could be. Pictures are posted below. Please help! Thanks!!!
