I have a couple of mixed breed chicks that I want identified. Can anyone help?
it's hard to say what it is if it's mixed. personally it looks pretty wheaten to me
All chicks have clean legs and single combs. barred rock or Dominique? #2
The first one looks like a barred rock or a mix, maybe a sex-link. It's not a dominique because dominiques have rose combs, not single combs. It's definitel a cockerel though. The second one also looks like a mix, and also a cockerel. The third one looks like a black copper marans pullet except that it has yellow bottoms of the feet and no feathered legs. Could be mixed with a marans, or something else altogether
I don't think that there were any Marans. I wish there were though.
The chickens I know that are possible parents are RIRs, Americana, Spanish bantam?, a striped bird, ( which I thought was a dominique because they're small, but they don't have rose combs), and a bantam that I have no clue about that is black and white. ( I can't get a pic, because it's not my bird)
does it have fuzzy leggs
Nope, all chicks have clean legs. If you were thinking silkie, I know that there are no silkies.
no i was thinking fraverole
Do faverolles have to have feathered feet? Maybe the Americana rooster is actually faverolle?
