Naah na na I got an egg! *Updated w/ pictures

After 21 weeks of waiting in anguish, I got my very first egg today

. Yes siree, my girls are officially laying eggs

It's little, but it's an egg! I have a question though, not quite sure when she layed it as it was behind the nest box. It was cold and could have been since the last time I looked behind the boxes which was two days ago. I just assumed they would lay IN the boxes as I am a first timer. It's been in the high 50's at night and high 70's during the day - so can I eat it? Is there a way to tell if it's good? I'll get a picture up later DH has the camera with him at work.

Those yummy new eggs only need refrigeration after they've been refrigerated! what? You can keep them room temp a long time however once they've been refrigerated they need to be kept refred!
that should be a wonderful egg!
