Naked Neck, what breed mix?

Hi there,

As my naked neck has become more and more fully feathered, I am curious as to what breeds she might be made up of! She’s 7-weeks-old, and as a chick had the stripes a lot like my Easter Eggers, but she looks quite different than them now. Thoughts?

Was she from a hatchery? She just looks like a typical red Naked Neck

Yes I believe so, but I bought her from someone, not from a hatchery directly — I think this person resells hatchery chicks

That's all that matters that you love her. She's your baby. I hatched one that had a Bielfelder daddy and a red Naked Neck hen mother earlier this month from my next door neighbor's flock of hen's. He borrowed my rooster for them. Both of these were from his hen's.

I have one slightly similar but he has more black, he’s a pure black naked neck mixed with a Rhode Island Red or a brown leghorn I’m not positive, hoping I’ll run into the breeder to ask but she does look similar to him other then the amount of brown

My guess on mine is black naked neck dad RIR or BL mom (he was selling a bunch of brown hens I just can’t remember the breed it was one of the two) so it could be she has more genetics leaning to the brown so the black is very faint. I’m not positive just guessing
